The picturesque mountains of Fujairah may swarm with rock hikers and campers today but thousands of years ago, they were the canvas for the people who lived there. Archaeological studies on the rock art — or petroglyphs — that pepper the emirate’s mountainside has been under in the UAE for 60 years, despite quarrying and construction threatening their existence. According to the Fujairah Tourism and Antiquities Authority, FTAA, more than 31 petroglyph sites have been found in the emirate, including sites in Wadi Saham, Hassat al-Risoom, Wadi ah-Shanah, and Wadi al-Hayl. Wadi Saham petroglyph is located close to the road.

There is no climbing and bouldering just hiking through the beautiful valley surrounded by mountains, There are plenty of water pools. If you are interested in swimming in the natural pool then you can bring a towel and changing cloth.
Sheri village trail in wadi Naqab is one of the most beautiful moderately challenging hikes you can do in the Rasaal Khaima emirates. The route will bring you all the way up to the remote Sheri Village perched on the top of the mountain at 800 meters in height, this trail is not officially marked but there are plenty of cairns till to the village. Starting from the wadi and gradually inclining all the way to the village passing one big Bat cave on your left side. The Sheri village at the top is small and neat built by Rocks, this village is unique and beautiful on the top of the mountain.
